In 1997, three students from Florida International University decided to get together and form an improv/sketch comedy troupe. Yamil Piedra, Ozzie Quintana, and Charles Quinteros all met in the "green room" of the FIU Theatre Department discussing what to call the troupe. They came up with several names including Green Eggs and C-Squared (Comedy Crew). They could not come up with any name they agreed on until they started to think of what the troupe would be all about; IMPROvisation and cOMEDY. They put them together and IMPROMEDY was born.

Since that time we have had a variety of successful shows. Our cast has had several changes through the years, but the idea has always stayed the same... "bringing urine into your pants." The IMPROMEDY cast now consists of an ambitious group of players who invite you to join them for all of their shows and help them continue the laughter.

• Impromedy hosts the 3rd Annual South Florida Improv Jam to raise money for the Chris
  Farley Foundation.
  
• Impromedy creates Impromedy JV - a program for young people between 17-20 that are trained the art of improv/sketch comedy by Impromedy cast members.

Fall 2004

• Impromedy XIX - The Afterschool Special
  The first class of Impromedy JV holds their first performance entitled "Coming Out"
